Supervisor Orientation (EAP)

This training for supervisors discusses the Resources For Living (RFL) benefit, our Employee Assistance Program. It details who is eligible, how the process works, confidentiality, what types of problems are often addressed and how to access benefits. It also provides examples on how to identify a troubled employee and walks the listener through the process of referring an employee to RFL. This training includes:

•Guidance on how to focus on managing an employee’s performance issues instead of their personal issues

•Information about management consultations

•Facts to help support staff after traumatic workplace events

•Ways RFL can help employees

It’s a good time to learn how to help prevent suicide

At first, you may think, "Why do I need to know about suicide?" But the fact is that most of us have been touched in some way by it.

Hopefully, you’ve never felt suicidal. But perhaps you have. Or perhaps you have a friend, relative or coworker who has been down that road. Since it’s National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, we’d like to help you learn some essential, helpful truths about suicide.

The Talk Saves Lives online training is a good place to start. It can teach you that you actually have the power to help others who may be considering suicide — even if you're social distancing. In this training, you can learn:

  • Reasons people take their own lives
  • Risk and protective factors
  • Suicide prevention steps
  • How you can help someone who is suicidal

In honor of Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, we invite you to take this training. There’s no cost, but there can be a big payoff. You can learn ways to help someone who is at risk and needs someone else to offer the right kind of caring and support.
