File your claim

Contact The Hartford to open your claim if you anticipate being out more than 5 days. To file your claim you can 1-866-269-6241 or go online @ abilityadvantage.thehartford.com

Notify the leave administrator

After submitting your claim, notify the leave administrator at 1-800-852-2805 (option #2) or email leaves@mcclatchy.com.

There are a  few instances (i.e. personal non-medical or non-FMLA-related leave) where you would not need to open a claim but you’ll want to discuss with the leaves administrator prior to your leave starting.
